About

Welcome to Steel and Bone, Horn and Stone, the body mod blog!

My name is Laura, and I’ll be your guide through this journey of discovery. My intent with this blog is to share my love of body modification, to educate those new to the community, and help debunk myths and misconceptions about the practice, as well as just insight into my life, my experiences, my thoughts and my world at large. Tattoos aren’t for convicts and bikers anymore, it’s not just punks and rebels who get pierced anymore. Almost everyone has a body modification these days, and my goal with this blog is to make sure that yours are as lovely and beautiful on the outside, as you feel on the inside with them.

So sit back, make yourself some tea, and have a read. I’ll do my best to never be boring. ^_^

As far as I’m aware, there are no “casual” ceramics safe for body jewelry. Meaning, nothing you buy in your local craft store is going to be safe. The best you might be able to do is have a professional ceramic artist make you a pair of plugs, but even then, not all glazes are safe for wear in the body. Your best bet is to wear them through silicone ear skins.
